Another album, another few thousand miles in the van, another couple hundred pitchers of stale beer: another year in the life of Killingbird. Los Angeles-based Killingbird return with another dose of aggressive glam/punk/rock. "Waste Another Yesterday" retains the grit and urgency of their debut album, while showing the growth and polish of time spent on the road.

One listen will show why respected hard rock magazine Kerrang describes Killingbird as "ripping pieces of flesh from the carcass of glam-metal and sewing them into the pockmarked, pustulating carcass of classic punk rock".

A running lyrical theme through out "Waste Another Yesterday" is "never let the bastards get you down". "Can't Kill Me"...the title is pretty obvious...give me all the shit you got and I'll still get back up. Balls out rocker "First Class Ticket" won't settle for second best...Screw Coach (not the guy from Cheers, I mean, he was cute, but...), Screw Business Class, Gimme First Class! The hook-filled title track tells a tale of moving forward and forgetting a hurtful/painful past.

Twenty songs were written and twelve were strong enough to make the cut. According the Christian, "this record is so much stronger and focused than our first. We actually were able to pick and choose. With our debut, we only had twelve songs written, so all of them made the record. There are one or two on there that I never want to hear again."

Once again, guitarist Skyla handled the production duties. "We took a little more time with the recording of this album", Skyla says. "The first record was done in about 2 weeks, I had a month and a half with this one...I had more time to try different things. Have August play a different part o have Marc try a different rhythm. I think the results speak for themselves."

The writing team of Skyla and vocalist Christian contributed all the songs with one notable exception...guitarist August registers his first co-writing credit with the dark, moody piece "Where In The World". August explains "Skyla, Christian and I wrote and recorded a demo of that song on '97...4 years before the birth of Killingbird. While we were recording the new album, a friend of ours stopped by the studio with a tape and that long-forgotten song started playing. He told us we had to record it or he'd start breaking shit, starting with my brand new Gibson. Needless to say, the song made it on the record".

Killingbird's self-titled debut scored Top 5 Most Added at CMJ, FMQB, and Album Networkœalong with a #1 track ("Little Flower") at MP3.Com. Looking to build on the success of their debut, Killingbird has already scored their second #1 MP3.Com Hit with "Dust If Off". Built around a killer riff, "Dust It Off" reminds us that we're not here forever. Get off your ass and enjoy life! Clearly, Killingbird enjoy theirs.
